Some Lunging

Didnt want to ride today since it had rained and Ace was all wet so I figured I would lunge.  He was doing really great and then in the middle of a beautiful, uphill canter EXPLOSION and off like a beam her tried to go!!  Took a while but got him calmed back down and was able to finish...what a goomer!!

            Finally…..a good ride today!!  When I first got on he was little cranky and did a tad of kicking but I figured out why with the help of Vicki.  I dropped contact and just let him go forward!  Once he realized that he could go forward I started to ask for the contact back.  He then did good!  I still have a hard time with moving his shoulders in the trot circle, but I was told that is going to take some time to fix. 

                Then the canter!!  I was a little curious to see how he was going to act but…NO KICKING!!!  Yes, he still trotted into it but right now that is fine-just didn’t want the kicking! I let him GO once he started to!  I wanted him to know that it was the right thing and he did good!! 

                Cant wait to ride again tomorrow and see what happens!!

Ok!!!  Here it is my first blog post!!!  Let me give you some details about me and my horse.

My name is Brittany Remhof, I am currently 19 years old, and live in Wisconsin!  This is my first time trying to blog and I am just going to see how it goes....should be interesting!  Along with training my horse I work full time and go to college full time...spare time is something I dont really come across!!  Well thats all for me...I guess I am kind of boring!  LOL 

Ok, now let me tell you about my horse...he is a 5yr old Saddlebred gelding named At Least I'm Famous, or Ace! He is most certainly one of the most complicated horses I have ever had and each day is something different with him!  He is a little crazy and A.D.D. but hey it keeps things interesting!!
